What is health coaching?
Health coaching is a fairly new phenomenon and has, thankfully, experienced a meteoric rise in the health and wellness arena through recent years. It is a practice that enables everyone and anyone to find the healthiest, happiest and most sustainable way of living in all areas of life. Its view is that health can be in the small, simple changes we make and follow through on. It does not advocate for restrictions. It is a programme of abundance and enjoyment.
The practice of health coaching does not view the aspects of life that impact our health in silos. The state of our wellness is more than the food we do or do not eat and the prescriptions we receive from the doctor. Health is multifactorial and extends beyond the plate, the gym and the doctor’s office. It is bio-individual.
There is an epidemic of obesity, digestive issues, auto-immune diseases, metabolic issues and chronic illnesses. The amount of people experiencing these problems is increasing, despite the advances in healthcare and the number of drugs on the market. These are trends that simply do not make sense, so what is the issue? Have you ever wondered why these health issues are on the rise?
It’s because the approach to health is treatment, rather than prevention; it’s because people don’t have the understanding or education on what health really is; and it’s because the whole picture is rarely considered.
Health coaching is the perfect supplement to traditional healthcare and will help you to construct a way of living that suits you and supports your health in a way that nestles perfectly with your lifestyle. It will not put forward restrictions or unsustainable ideas and coaching sessions with be open conversations where you can be curious and explorative of what suits you. Together we will put together bespoke goals and find small actions and methods to help you reach them.
